Well... my college timetable is different from the rest of the college and schools in Malaysia. When I goes to college, they have their breaks. When I got my breaks, they goes to college... only in a few situations that we got breaks together.

Ugh... I kinda hate this....

Wandering around Malaysia for 5 days isn't all that bad. We got situations like black ants residing in the car, leeches sucking our blood, cramped feet, etc. At least I shoot hundreds of pictures for the album. Hehe...

Vista Free Disk Space = GONE?!

Suddenly my free disk space becomes 0 and I can't start up anything without them lagging. Even my thumbnail not showing up. I went and used McAfee cleanup, but it doesn't show much difference. Even windows cleanup and disk defragmentation not working for me. Uninstalled lots of stuff from my 'C:/' space, but somehow the free space keep filling up without a reason at all!

Feeling almost defeated I went to the net and used Advanced System Care available from CNet. Wah! It solved my hard disk problem! Although not all, since there are still 11Gig of temp files in my 'C:/'. But it still solves that problem of shrinking disk space! Maybe I got some kind of malware in here that McAfee didn't detect...

Huwaaa! It was fun!

Friday:

Getting ready in the morning, taking the bus at 7.30 am, and as everyone was sleeping, me and Hikaru were wide awake and bored... the trip to Gopeng took about 2 hours and a half, ate at Medan Selera Batu Gajah -they gave us a huge pile of rice which I cannot ate all of them-, I got the chance to ate some 'siput sedut', yum!

Then! We went to Gua Tempurung! The cave is HUGE!!! But since it was raining, the trip changed from walking through the stairs to walking through the river. They are the same trip. And I was excited + worried, but ah, why should I care about that! It's an adventure I shouldn't miss, so I jumped right in!!! The most interesting place is the giant chamber with a cocoon hanging from the ceiling and the giant pillar supporting the ceiling. Too bad I didn’t have SLR camera, oh, but even if you do have an SLR camera the lighting isn't enough to capture the beauty of the cave. It was foggy in there; my super-spotlight-torch-light can’t even touch the structure even though my eyes can.

We got onto the ferry at about 5.30pm, arrived at Pangkor jetty around 1 hour later and we went straight to Teluk Nipah. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed because my previous trip to Pangkor was a place where there weren’t a lot of people around. Here, it is crowded. The chalet was nice, enough for quick travellers. The only stuff missing is the fridge and hot water. They got air-cond’s and a TV set. And we brought with us a PS2 set to kill time. Muahahaha!!! it was nice! Everytime we got spare time we played PS2! Fatal Frame was scary....

Saturday:

Woke up at about 7.30am, sleepy and it was raining. Looks like the snorkelling had to be at afternoon. Our photography trip was rushed and most of us didn't have enough to call a perfect set. Even mine was half blurry.

The snorkelling trip was okay. I found that place where my family stayed last time. It was Pangkor Laut Resort, an expensive place to stay for locals. Ohhh, so that's why I didn't see many people around the last time we went there...

Night, huhu... it's the Loy Kratong event. Lacking out of ideas, I just picked up whatever came to view while we group mate’s think of the ideas on-the-go. The result = a bamboo tray with bamboo leaves and bamboo skin looking like a squid as it's sail. It was nicknamed 'Sotong', and we accepted it happily. Kind of weird it was called 'Sotong'... But! Our beloved 'Sotong’ sailed the farthest! Looks like the physics of wind and sails helped, Ahahahaha!

Sunday:

Ooh, we rushed packing our bag for the trip back. The van's came at 7.30am, the ferry at 9.00am. We got the ferry with a big viewing platform. Too bad not much happens. Some battleships and bullboats do came to view though.

The bus came, as bus 2 takes their time to shop, bus 1 –which I was in- went ahead. First stop, Istana Kenangan, and they’re closed!!! What the heck?! So we had to take pictures from around the palace…

Second stop, -I can’t remember the place name- got a nice craft of Benang Emas and newspaper weave, and Kris! They're nicely sculpted, I even found out that women’s also have their own weapons like in this picture! They tucked them into their 'sanggul', and a perfect weapon for travelling merchants. It was small and rough, I thought it was made from wood.

Extras: They sell those asam jawa ice cream here!!! I loves those stuffs! At only 20cents per tube! I enjoyed them!

Done this and that, finally we went back to MMU. I fell asleep all the way, but I can hear others are wide awake. Maybe because the air-conds aren't working well at the back. Oh well, the front were cold enough for me to fell asleep.

Yeah, finally finished the website. I sure did finish the website early but at the last minute I feel that something is definetly wrong with my website, and recode all from scratch.

Of course I didn't have time for that. Thank goodness Mdm. Hew didn't have anything to teach us today. The one who wasn't finished yet could still finish them in time. I finished them, burned the files into the cd and uploaded them into the mmu server.

Kinda late actually, but finally managed to finish the job.

I found out that I'm terrible at coloring anything, watercolor? I don't want to talk about it.. just looking at my watercolored picture stresses me out...

Geez... that's a weakness that I hate to admit. I do know that I'm currently studying tone levels with pencils. And I never able to grasp the tecnique of color pencil. Those who saw my sketchbook will notice that all of them are pencil sketch, they won't see any color sketch in it.

Why was that? Heh, usually I'll try on a blank A4 paper, sketch something out and color them. The final result often ended with the paper in the trash bin...

It's hard to control the flow of color...

Supposed to present my VR project 2 at 9am later but I only finished 3 of my sketches. I can't seem to find the mood to sketch anything except Sonic, so my papers have half project's pictures, half Sonic and the gang scribbles...

Nonononono... this isn't good... the song is exciting me way too much! To do what I want! Guess that song titled It dosen't matter ~ Theme of Sonic the Hedgehog influenced me a lot more than I imagined...

Eon Reality presentation at MMU

They came!!!

And I got overexcited! Who wouldn't?! Virtual reality is a high end technology that is in high demand! And the equipment that they bring along is too cool!

They first show their polarised 3d projector and presented the interactive content with 3D feel! I'm a beta student so of course I don't really know how to do all these stuff.

The most fun part is exploring the yacht in EON VIEWER! I went and clicked around here and there. Opening and closing windows and doors. "What an expensive yacht it is, 4 rooms!" "Built in cabinet TV!" "A boat and a boatski!"

Whooo, how luxorious!!!

Ahahahaha! Found that catsle model that I made during my first semester of 3D Max!

I got bored modeling small stuff so I went right into the big stuff, a castle. Only exterior though. I never knew how the castle looked like inside so.

Anyway! Here it was! Some preview of my 2.. wait.. is it 3 month? of research and work. I really love 3D! And I guess virtual reality is a great place afterall!!!

History

Origins and entry into the video game market (1945–1989)

Sega was founded in 1940 as Standard Games (later Service Games) in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States,by Martin Bromely, Irving Bromberg, and James Humpert to provide coin-operated amusements for American servicemen on military bases. Bromely suggested that the company move to Tokyo, Japan in 1951 and in May 1952 "SErvice GAmes of Japan" was registered.

In 1954, another American businessman, David Rosen, fell in love with Tokyo and established his own company, Rosen Enterprises, Inc., in Japan to export art. When the company imported coin-operated instant photo booths, it stumbled on a surprise hit: The booths were very popular in Japan. Business was booming, and Rosen Enterprises expanded by importing coin-operated electro-mechanical games.

Rosen Enterprises and Service Games merged in 1965 to make Sega Enterprises. Within a year, the new company released a submarine-simulator game called Periscope that became a smash-hit worldwide.

In 1969, Gulf+Western purchased Sega, and Rosen was allowed to remain CEO of the Sega division. Under Rosen's leadership, Sega continued to grow and prosper.

In the video game arcades, Sega was known for games such as Zaxxon and Out Run. Sega's revenues would hit $214 million by 1982 and in 1983, Sega would release its first video game console, the SG-1000, the first 3D arcade video game, SubRoc-3D, which used a special periscope viewer to deliver individual images to each eye, and the first laserdisc arcade game, Astron Belt.

In the same year, Sega was hit hard by the American video game crash. Hemorrhaging money, Gulf+Western sold the U.S. assets of Sega to famous pinball manufacturer Bally Manufacturing Corporation. Sega would also release the Sega Master System and the first Alex Kidd game, who would be Sega's mascot until 1991 when Sonic the Hedgehog took over. While the Master System was technically superior to the NES, it failed to capture market share in North America due to highly aggressive strategies by Nintendo and ineffective marketing by Tonka. However, it did dominate the European and Brazilian markets until Sega discontinued the system in Europe in 1996, and in Brazil in 2000.

Sonic and the Black Knight

Continuing the series of Sonic Storybook series exclusively on Nintendo Wii Platform came Sonic and the Black Knight.

Gameplay for Sonic and the Black Knight differs from traditional games in the Sonic series by mixing in the new element of swordplay, along with the traditional Sonic platforming and speed. Swordplay is implemented through the Wii Remote. Gameplay will be more similar to Sonic Unleashed than Sonic and the Secret Rings; Sonic's movement will be controlled with the analog stick as he will be on a set course, and gameplay will mainly be 3D, but occasionally the camera will shift to a side-scrolling perspective for traditional 2D gameplay.

The stages feature civilians that the player can harm and some that Sonic can interact with; these actions and the player's deeds will be judged at the end of each stage, updating the player's "knight ranking" accordingly. By interacting with these characters you may do a quick-time button input. Doing so correctly will take away 20 of Sonic's rings and give them to the civilian. In some stages, this is required to give a specific amount of rings to villagers before reaching the goal. In stages where this is not required the civilian will reward Sonic with an item. There will be about 200 items in the game, some of which can be gained by opening treasure chests in the stages. Any items collected during a stage must be identified at the end of the stage by using Sonic's "ID points" Rarer items will cost more ID points than others. An online mode will allow treasures to be traded between registered friends.

The game changes the traditional level items, such as springs and speed pads, into "fairies". These fairies come in varying colors; Yellow elements will be used as a group of 5 rings, and Blue fairies will be used as speed boosts and springs, and Red will be used to fill the "Soul gauge". This gauge is filled by defeating enemies and collecting Red Fairies, and is used to unleash a powerful lock-on attack, Soul Surge.

The skill system from Sonic and the Secret Rings also returns, but has been reviewed to adjust any problems that were present in that game: the skill system is also designed so as not to interfere with the game's tempo. The character has 3 styles to chose from. At first only the knight style is available, but later Paladin and Cavalier styles are unlocked. They deal with the aspects of speed and power, respectively. As levels are completed, the player gains a number of "Followers" that is used as Experience and as the number of followers goes up, the number of skills you have in a certain style are increased. For other characters beside Sonic, their styles are not increased, rather, their swords have their abilities and a sword's skills get better.

Once a certain point in the story is reached, Knuckles, Shadow and Blaze will be playable from that point on. They will each have their own characteristics. For instance, Knuckles will have dual swords that double as boomerangs and the ability to glide, and Blaze can surround herself with fire and use more lunge attacks than Sonic. Shadow can also use Chaos Powers. In story mode, they can use different swords from their original swords, unlike Sonic, who can only wield Caliburn. And instead of their styles getting better, their swords get stronger. Silver the Hedgehog plays the role as Sir Galahad (the son of Sir Lancelot) and Jet the Hawk plays as Sir Lamorak, but they only appear in Multiplayer.

Multiplayer

Up to four players can play, choosing between one of 12 characters to partake in a number of different kinds of battles. Characters include Knuckles, Shadow and Blaze in both their normal and Arthurian guises, as well as Tails, Silver and Jet in Arthurian forms. Amy also appears as herself.

Plot

A sorceress named Merlina, granddaughter of the original Merlin, summons Sonic to help free the mystical realm of King Arthur, who has been possessed by an unknown evil that comes from Excalibur's scabbard, and is now ruling the realm as the tyrannical Black Knight. Sonic's speed alone will not end The Black Knight's reign, so he must take up the talking sword, Caliburn, in order to break Arthur's curse and save the kingdom.

I don't care if I don't have Nintendo Wii. At least I'm getting the original game to wonder and dream about ~XD. In short I want this game!!!

Tiring, very tiring, but I like the cause of my tiredness... but, it's really, really tiring...

spent one whol night trying to colour about 55~65 frames of the storyboard. I found out middleway that I wont have enough time for this, and gone animating the storyboard in black and white (fixed their brightness of course).

Oh and I bought a nice and cheap wireless headphone! Usually wireless headphone cost about 200~300 each, but I got this one at only RM27! With the ability to receive normal radio transmission, wirelessly receiving incoming transmission into the receiver, and perfect pitch mic receiving ability. I wonder why they sell this at RM27...

And here is the components! I stuck SEGA characters onto the reciever solely for my own enjoyment ~ XD

Times Square and Loyatt Plaza

3pm, arrived at KL central. Bought Fillet-o-fish for energy to move. And start moving to Times Square. At first, I heard drums and cheers, wonder what happening? And there it was! Malaysia Open Squash Championship! ADn I thought I heard Nicol David was there ~ If I heard it right... Being late for everything, and it was raining outside, I went to Borders. Searching for research material. Bought a heavy-duty sharpener, 30 minute sketch, Digital Art Masters : Volume 3 and Filmmaking for Dummies.

Went to Loyatt Plaza after, I got side tracked at SONY booth displaying Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable. I never knew their new price though. And off I went into some camera shop. SLR cameras are expensive.... cheapest SLR I found? RM1860. Basic SLR camera. But still expensive... How... can... I... get... money...?

Virtual Reality courses on the loose

Friday morning, we're supposed to submit Project 1. But due to messiness and uncontrollable placings of the pictures and captions, all of the submissions was rejected. Aw darn it... And we need to reprint, replace, and remade the hardcopy into an acceptable submission. Their quality ratings are high... It feels just like we're dealing with professionals here... Extended due date : next Tuesday.

Ack, wait...I havent taken any picture of MMU for project 2 at all either! And the submission date is next Tuesday too! Supposedly to pick 5 intresting places based on Principles of Design : contrast, harmony, proportion, balance, movement, perpective and unity. Each picture must have at least 2 from the stated principles. Having none of the knowledge of photography, I was struggling to figure out what is what. Finally, I need to sketch these into a 5R sized picture.

Then, I need permission from my parents for VR class trip to Pangkor Island. We're gonna go explore a cave, snorkelling, barbequeing and taking pictures of the scenery, design, etc. Oh... and I need an XLR camera too! It is a must. Where the heck can I find an XLR camera?! I don't want to borrow from someone else! We're going into a cave! A CAVE!!! And bringing along someone else XLR camera?! I'm definetly just inviting death on my doorstep... hahaha...

P.S: what makes this even worse... I do not have enough money to do most of these...

Fuh, finally done with 3d screws and bolts.
Although I had to modify them a bit due to the lack of version 2009 in the lab, I was 70% satisfied with my job. I don't think I need texturing too much, they only want modelling and aesthetics in them.

Haha, the rendering was low quality. Hate that... I need better rendering techniques...

Oh well, I got another request just a moment ago... this time I'll need to model a drum set. I'll get this one done by today, if I didn't fall asleep in the middle of the job...

Hmmm, between screws and bolts. They are small yet comlicated in structure and design. Took me some tries to get the desired structure. Using many star and circle splines, with boolean functions to get some holes and stuff.

Sonic Unleashed

Sonic Unleashed, also known as Sonic World Adventure in Japan, is an upcoming video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The name was trademarked by Sega on March 12, 2008. Screenshots of cut scenes, artwork, and a video were leaked ten days later; the title was then officially confirmed by Sega on April 3, 2008 with a small selection of screenshots and an updated video.

The gameplay style is markedly different when compared to recent games. It will focus on 2D side-scrolling platform gameplay, rendered with 3D visuals, as well as behind-the-back, third-person stages. Gameplay will seamlessly transition between these two styles.

Story

Sonic Unleashed begins at the end of an untold story which sees Sonic confronting his nemesis, Doctor Eggman, bounding around a fleet of spaceships, and transforming to Super Sonic - Sonic transformed using the power of the Chaos Emeralds - in order to stop him. However, Eggman manages to trap him using a powerful new ray weapon which corrupts the power of the emeralds. He then uses the Emeralds' energy to unleash a powerful beast from the center of the planet, which has devastating consequences, shattering the planet into pieces; it is up to Sonic to solve the crisis by travelling the world, finding shrines that will fix the Emeralds, in order to return the world back to normal.

In addition, Eggman's ray also causes an unexpected transformation to Sonic's state, and Sonic's progress will be made even more difficult when the ray and the transformed Emeralds have the unforeseen side-effect of transforming him into a werehog - a beast form with greater strength and abilities - at night.

-Membaca blog orang lain-

Berputar-putar kepala otak nak tidur, entah kenapa walaupun dah jam 4 pagi mata takmau tidur. Dah sah insomnia nih~

So tengah-tengah insomnia nak buat apa? Pagi gelap so mencari blog orang lain lah jadinya... Seronok pulak membaca blog FADZLAN RIZAN JOHANI. Haha... kalau sangkut boleh refer, mana tahu boleh berjaya macam dia. Blog pun nampak best, apa lagi layan laa..

-Terdetik nak desktop-

Bincang-bincang dengan member nak cari desktop. Ingat nak angkat Alienware tapi lepas dua kali tengok mak aih, giler mahal oii. So cari desktop version lain, jumpa jenama Dell and Acer. Bundle paling best jumpalah. Tapi patutnya kalau custom pun boleh sebab abah ngan mak supplier barang2 IT elektronik so patut no problem dapatkan desktop top ngan harga paling murah yang boleh dijumpai. Haih, dah addicted 3D dah mula semangat nak buat course Sofware Engineering and Games Design nih. Mau taknye, games tak sah kalau takder 3D kan? Warcraft, Fifa,Crysis, Halo, Sonic dan lain-lain semua guna 3D. Sekarang pun baru tahu apa beza Playstation 1,2 and 3, Gameboy and Xbox.

-Cakap pasal games-

Teringat ada hari tu sorang tanya apa beza PS2 and PS3. Ni dah tahu apa so nak jawab.

PS2 : Gambar cantik, performance best tapi sebenarnya kebanyakannya cuma mapping atas model leper. Bayangkan, bolat-bulat, kotak-kotak yang bercaler manusia. Kalau dah macam tu macam tu lah, virtual life leper. Interactive takder, semua dah diset oleh programmer.

PS3: Nak saya cakap ape yang best pasal PS3? Karakter dalam PS3 macam betul-betul hidup, ade muscle movement. Dah start takleh beza antara video clip ngan gameplay dah. Antara beberapa game:

-Sonic Next-Gen : control time of the day . nak enviroment siang? malam atau hujan pun boleh so time main ada ribut, mungkin additional special effect macam pokok terbang kite kene elak time running high-speed, whoh, dah mulalah mau PS3... dah real life sangat... ( nak upgrade ke Wii pulak, mesti lebih best)
-Metal Gear Solid : cool ape, walaupun tak pernah main, dah tgk gameplay nak lah pulak
-NBA live : taktau macamana nak cakap, memang hampir sebijik dengan PS2, tapi boleh nampak apa beza bila main. Sy bold kan eh... REAL GILER...

So, apa yang PS3 ada tapi PS2 takder? Hah, susah nak cakap so meh tengok video yang membezakan antara PS2 ngan PS3.

dah tengok? memang ku mahu ps3 daripada ps2 dah.... nak main sonic next gen. Wii pun nak gak~ tapi dua2 mahal, mana nak cari duit oii...

-Pusing model-model 3D-

Sekarang tengah memikir macamana nak buat chain untuk jam, senang je patutnya, fikir banyak sangat je. Kalau tak start tak tau apa hasilnya so daripada berfikir baik bergerak tangan tu try semua yang ada, dan pastikan save setiap 5 minit dengan file berasingan untuk mengelak corrupt files atau tak cukup memory nak render, menagis kang bila tetiba files corrupt...

-Dah time untuk exam-

eehhh? dah nak exam ke? syok melayan kerenah sendiri tak sedar dah kul 7 pagi, petang nanti ada exam math. kene ingat formula. Hari ni ade 4 klas... hoho tak sangka jumaat adalah hari yang paling sibuk sekali dalam semester ini~~

Wanting to get a desktop PC

I actually do need a workstation right now, a laptop just wont work with this program, I can't render high detailed 3D image without crashing... I don't know what, but a laptop, even high powered one just wont do with games engineering...

Pc~ Pc.... I wanna a Pc~ nice one~ maybe I'll gonna do a Pc casing with 3d ~ gimme 2 days and I'll post a nice Pc model~

For now, I gotta study math. Limits, derivatives and intergrations are what I need to study. Leave all the others aside, study first~ then crash and continue with programming and modelling~ oh and assigments~

Well, after a few day modelling, deleting, extruding, etc. and experinced a few crashes while rendering and forcing to recreate as the polygon count gets a bit too high (and I just added meshsmooth~~ okay, a lot of meshsmooths).

Now after revising what I did wrong let me show you the latest render of the infamous pulsar chronograph watch ~ wired chrome version... (in-production)

Word cannot express what I feel right now, because I've just finalised my first 3D model and I don't even believe that it is my 3 hour work done following the tutorial by this link .

Aaannnnd... here is my final render picture which took me 40 seconds to render (whoa I really need that desktop now) looks like... I'm soo proud I made it into a desktop background, so I could remember... my first rendered model of my life...

*I should frame this somewhere...*

NOW! Time to model the wristwatch! With only 2 weeks left to submit... I think I should be able to create this model in about 5 hours after planning the shape... wristwatch got some complicated shape... lucky me I didn't get to model a car for my first assigment.. Imagine all the research I need to do....

p.s : I use 3D Studio Max 6 to do this model~~

Now I've taken the course computer modelling I'm gonna do it great!
I've gotten myself a Maya Personal Learning Editon to help me through the whole process, and it's one expensive book too. Not only I got Sofware programmming to do, I also got 3d animation with it too...

Whoa... that look kinda cool!

Hehe, I looked into my data bank and found several nice arts to edit about. Just to say this imagee is not originally owned by me, Yura did (although I may never actually know the person) and drew this 100% in OpenCanvas, an extremely cool draw on tablet application that is digital! Not to mention they can upload their work from scratch to finishing touches online, other people can actually see the work in progress, no matter whom!
~(just need to upload online and having working in OpenCanvas ONLY)~

That something Photoshop may never ever able to reach, and that is cool...

Well, I think I need some upgrades on this laptop... I really wanted to install Adobe Photoshop but the memory lack stops me so.... I wanted a Desktop PC.... ohhh...freedom of adding harddrives...

Heck, why do I even bother about Adobe Phothoshop when I got OpenCanvas and Corel Painter in my Laptop? They're even better in performance that that heavy duty photoshop...

...and it started off with quite a BANG, and I mean it.
Well, as everyone may or may not know, I'm a late submissioner of quite a lot of stuff, and this is one of it ... I did not register for any subject yet and it already the first day of class!!!, stuff.

Oh well, at least I still could register for a few couple of subjects. Much to my own dismay I didn't pass Discrete Structure, could you believe that I never even able to comprehend WHAT THE HECK IS THE SUBJECT IS ALL ABOUT!!!

Pssh...and I may never will too... Huh, since they did not offer that subject in Trimester 3, I can't do anything about it. Heh, as the matter of fact, this may be the easiest trimester around. Adding if and only if I study... haha

Geh, but I have in my data bank near completed Bank Programming file for reference and I'm not afraid to use it except it was stated that, no copying... well, I could always create my own from the experts, The only problem is user input passwords...
